I had searched for a very good garment steamer to take when I travel. I thought I'd found it with all the good reviews BUT it seems to take a long time to fill this steamer & then it puts out very little steam. Compactibility & price were the key drivers for me to purchase this steamer. As a frequent traveler, it's a handy item to have. It can also be used in European countries, where the voltage differs from that in the US. Drawbacks? Yes, it has a few. It takes a while for the water to heat up and it leaks even when filled to the recommended level. Also, the cord isn't very long, making it difficult to use at times. The next time I get a compact steamer, it'll have to be cordless one for sure.

We bought this item to take on a cruise since you can't use an iron in the stateroom. We were very pleased w/ the way it worked; it is compact enough so it doesn't take up a lot of space. Need to move the unit slowly over the wrinkles, but it worked very well!
